Bowman Municipal Airport

 
The Tri-State Drag Racing Association held a race at the airport in May 1998. The TSDRA was scheduled to hold a second race on the runway of the airport on October 7, 2001.

Dickinson Municipal Airport

 
The Dakota Drag Racing Club, organized in 1998, held its first drag race on a taxiway at the airport in 1999. About 3,000 spectators watched 108 entries in that race. Races were timed for 1/8th-mile distance. It didn't hold races in 2000 because the airport was closed for renovations. A second race was held on August 26, 2001. FAA approval was received for races to be held on June 30, 2002. A race was also held on June 24, 2006.

Flasher Airstrip

 
Hot rodders used the airstrip at Flasher for drag races on warm days. There is what looks like parallel air strips a short distance due north of Flasher. More research is needed.

Mandan Municipal Airport

 
1/8th-mile drag races were first held at the Mandan Airport on June 6, 1998, as part of the Buggies-n-Blues Festival. There were about 100 cars in the event, attended by almost 4,000 people. Approval was granted to hold drag races at the airport on the last day of the 3-day Wild West Bike Fest put on by the North Dakota ABATE motorcycle organization. The race, open to street legal cars and motorcycle only, was held on August 8, 2004. The ABATE motorcycle organization held another race on July 17, 2005. However this event was open to any and all race cars and bikes.

Mercer County Regional Airport (Hazen)

 
The Prairie Rose Car Club of Hazen held a drag race on August 4, 2001, at the airport. The race drew 113 competitors and 350 spectators. It had taken the car club three years to earn the liability insurance to stage the race. They held races annually in August.

Pacer Dragway ​(Dickinson)

 
Races were run for one season on the runway of Dickinson Municipal Airport, located five miles south of Dickinson. It was called Pacer Dragway because races were sponsored and conducted by the Pacers Auto Club of Dickinson.They held their first NHRA-sanctioned race on July 4, 1971, with a funny car match race as the featured attraction. They offered over $3,000 in prize money for the season's final race held on Sunday, September 26, 1971. Drag races were scheduled to be held also on July 2, 1972, in conjunction with Dickinson's second annual Roughrider Festival.
